WHY JAX?

Situated in Northeast Florida in an area known as Florida’s First Coast, Jacksonville is generous with Southern charm. With its rich history and inviting atmosphere, Jacksonville is also one of America’s fastest-growing metropolitan cities.

With the majestic  St Johns River winding through the city‘s core and out to the Atlantic Ocean,  the city is ideal for recreational activities such as boating, fishing or even boarding a cruise ship to sail to the Bahamas or Key West. Jacksonville’s downtown river taxi makes it convenient and fun to catch a Jaguars game at Alltel Stadium or nine innings of baseball with The Jacksonville Suns. The taxis offer numerous stops along downtown’s three-mile Northbank and Southbank Riverwalks.

The First Coast is also famous for its collection of world-class golf courses, in addition to hosting the PGA TOUR’s famed  annual championship tournament, THE PLAYERS. The city is known for its celebration of the arts with Broadway shows, Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra performances, numerous festivals and some of the country’s leading touring acts at the The Florida Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts, the Florida Theatre, the Jacksonville Veteran’s Memorial Arena, along with outdoor venues such as Metropolitan Park and Hemming Plaza.

The city also hosts the annual Jacksonville Film Festival as well as the monthly First Wednesday Art Walk, which transforms downtown Jacksonville into a walkable art gallery. Speaking of which, the city also offers several spectacular galleries and museums including the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens and the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Downtown Jacksonville and nearby trendy San Marco are home to a delicious spectrum of dining opportunities ranging  from locally-owned and operated hot spots to elegant, five-star cuisine.
With its beautiful weather, proximity to the Jacksonville International Airport and JaxPort, diverse recreational opportunities, and overall genuine quality of life, it’s no wonder that Jacksonville is attracting everyone from singles, families, empty nesters to Fortune 500 companies. The city truly offers something for everyone.
